Basically, nano-particles are holding on to special genes designed to kill cancer cells and leave normal cells safe. This is revolutionary compared to the dangerous chemotherapy which haphazardly slaughters all cells, often doing as much damage as healing. This treatment is just one of many that continue to prove the basic concepts of Transhumanism: Life can be extended and bettered through technology. The Holy Grail of Transhumanism is that, whether through medical-tech, bio-tech, robo-tech, or any other form of technology, humans can attain immortality. This may seem frightening at first because of the confusion between immortality and invulnerability. Immortality is being unable to die due to natural process, such as aging or sickness. Invulnerability is being unable to die due to unnatural process, such as being shot or hit by a car. Transhumanism believes that immortality can be attained, making it possible to live forever. You could still die, but not naturally. This research alone could help push us towards this Holy Grail, something I, as a transhumanist, eagerly await.
See you at the Singularity.
